Deputy Pringle fears new report on policing will be another document left sitting on the shelf



A Donegal TD fears that a new report on the future of Policing in Ireland will be another document left sitting on the shelf in government.

Members of the Commission set up last May to look at a root and branch reform of the service held an open event in Letterkenny last night.

They have also met in Carrick-on-Shannon and Athlone but there have been reports of poor enough turnouts.

Independent TD Thomas Pringle says he plans to make a submission to the Commission before the end of January.

However, he says previous recommendations made to government on policing in Ireland have not been implemented fully:
