Driver of bus travelling from Dublin to Donegal arrested for drink driving



The driver of a bus travelling from Dublin to Co Donegal was arrested for drink driving over the weekend.

The man was breathalysed and then arrested after being caught at a garda checkpoint on the M1.

The 50+ seater bus travelling from Dublin to Co Donegal bus company when it was stopped at a garda checkpoint just outside Dublin.

Gardai arrested the driver after they returned a positive roadside test for alcohol.

The driver was arrested at the scene and returned another positive test at the station.

A Fixed Penalty Notice was issued in the case.

A huge operation between 9:30am and 10:30am on Saturday saw a total of 246 motorists randomly tested for alcohol and four tested for drugs.

In total 22 motorists were tested. As well as the bus driver, one car was impounded for no NCT while 12 other offences were detected.
