Sligo man living in New York says ‘Bomb Cyclone’ is the worst storm in his 40 years there



A Sligo man living in New York says the so-called ‘bomb cyclone’ hitting the East coast of the United States at present is the worst he’s seen in his over 40 years in the city.

Schools have closed, flights have been cancelled and people were told to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary yesterday as freezing temperatures combined with hurricane winds hampered the area.

The cold weather has gripped the East coast for the last ten days but this so-called ‘bomb cyclone’ has hit the area in the last 24 hours.

Former President of the Sligo Association in New York Raymond Conlon originally from Geevagh described the conditions to Ocean FM News yesterday evening evening:
