North Leitrim homes still without water following Storm Eleanor



Work is ongoing to repair damage caused by Storm Eleanor.

Over 4000 people were affected by power outages earlier this week and it also affected some water pumping stations in the region.

Irish Water says its working with the ESB to restore supply to residents in an area of North Leitrim between Killargue and Drumkeerin.

About ten homes in the Geaglom are are still without water because of a power outage at a local booster pump

Irish Water is delivering bottled water to the customers affected.

Meanwhile, Sligo County Council says the coast road in Easkey remains closed.

The Authorities warn that while roads have been cleared, road users should remain vigilant as there is the ongoing danger of vulnerable trees weakened by storms over the last few days.

There are claims that the Authorities were not given adequate warning about the severity of Tuesday evening’s storm.
