Litter problem at Cartron Shopping Centre bringing down Sligo’s IBAL result

Sligo County Council needs to address the littering problems at the Cartron Shopping Centre in the town.

That’s according to the latest IBAL Litter League Survey which states that the area is bringing down Sligo’s overall result which has improved.

Sligo is now 20th in the league of 25 towns and cities around the country while Letterkenny is in 15th place but both are deemed ‘clean to european norms’.

However, Conor Horgan Spokesperson for IBAL says the Carton Shopping Centre needs to be cleaned up:

Meanwhile Ennis in county Clare has been announced as the cleanest town in Ireland for 2017.

It came top of the Irish Business Against Litter Survey meaning that it’s cleaner than European norms.
