Trolley numbers soar in the first days of New Year



The numbers waiting on trolleys has escalated even further in the first few days of January with nearly 50 people waiting on trolleys in Donegal and Sligo today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there are 35 people waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospial with 15 waiting in Sligo.

The INMO says the overcrowding problem is not improving at all and last year there was a six percent increase in the numbers on trolleys.
