Three Donegal rivers that were closed to wild salmon fishing will be open in the New Year.
They are the Eske and Owenwee in Ballyshannon Fishery District and the Tullaghobegley river in the Letterkenny District.
The will now become ‘catch and release’ rivers from January 1st.
Two other rivers on which there was open fishing will now become ‘catch and release’ rivers.
They are the Owenea/Owentocker and the Gweedore (Crolly) river, both in Letterkenny district.
The Leannan river, also in Letterkenny, which was ‘catch and release’ will be closed until April 30th.
