Farmers losing credibility by constantly ‘running crying’ to the govt for funding



A senior farming representative in Donegal says farmers are losing credibility by always running ‘crying to the government’ for money.

Chair of the Donegal branch of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association Malcolm Thompson was speaking after ongoing calls for the government to set up a fodder support scheme.

While he says some support is needed a national funding scheme is not called for.

He says if farmers continue to run crying to the government everytime the weather is bad the sector risks losing all credibility:
