Finn Valley AC headed north on Sunday having amassed a very encouraging medal tally from the national novice and uneven cross country. Medals for U11 boys and girls teams the colour – silver, and U19 boys. Always positive when your club is competitive at this age division. Additional medals for Sarah Bradley, Aoife McGrath and Oisin Toye.
At the end of a busy day the men’s novice squad just missed medals by five points but as members of the Donegal team placed third behind Dublin and Cork. Scorers Dermot Mc Elchar Oisin O Gaillin Seamus o Donnell Shane Gallagher Mark Mc Paul.
Thus ends the pre-Christmas cross-country programme. On this occasion, 26 athletes medaled – a boost at this time. Next up is the Stephen’s Day annual 5k at 12 noon, the longest existing road race in the northwest, attracting young and old with a festive flair. An opportunity to join with family and friends, and get out and about in the fresh air for a walk, jog or run.
