Emergency works need to be carried out on a bridge in Gurteen before a fatality happens.
That’s according to local Fianna Fail Councillor Paul Taylor who says the bridge which is near a number of housing estates just outside Gurteen is a safety hazard.
The Council has committed to carrying out work to the sides of the bridge as soon as possible in the New Year.
Councillor Taylor says it’s been an issue for a number of years and work needs to be done as it is an accident or worse a fatality waiting to happen:
