The road between Kiltyclogher in north Leitrim and Cashel in County Fermanagh remains closed since last night.
Gardai are on duty at one end of the road and PSNI officers at the other.
An alternative route is in place.
Gardai declined to give a reason for the closure or to say how long the closure would remain in place.
