Angling projects get funding boost



Angling projects throughout Sligo, Donegal and Leitrim are to get money from a €2.2m nationwide investment in 115 projects.

Eleven projects in Donegal will benefit, mostly in the north of the county.

The biggest amount — €223,750 — is going to Creeslough & District Angling while Buncrana Anglers Assocaition is getting the least, €2,000.

Seven projects in County Sligo will get a total of almost €115,000.

Among those to benefit are Ballmote and District Angling Club, Sligo Anglers’ Association, Ballisodare Fishing Club, River Easkey Angling Club, Inland Fisheries Ireland and Sligo County Council.

In Leitrim, a local development company is getting €1,197 for an angling marketing guide on discovering angling in Leitrim.
