A status yellow snow-ice weather warning is remaining in place until 11pm tonight for Counties Sligo and Leitrim.
Southern parts of Co. Leitrim were hit with snowfall overnight making travel hazardous in parts this morning.
Sligo County Council are advising the public to be prepared in the event of heavy snowfall and to limit non-essential travel.
The council say the are monitoring the conditions with snow ploughs and gritters on standby and that the main roads in the county will be treated.
