More snow forecast for North West – latest road conditions here



Up to 8 centimetres of snow could fall today as forecasters warn of wintry weather.

There’s an orange warning for the North and North West, which are expected to be worst hit.

But there’s also an ice warning for the rest of the country.

Below is a list of updates regarding road conditions this morning, it will be updates regularly so keep refreshing this page:

SLIGO –

  • CURRY TO KILKELLY – Snow along the road, drive with care
  • SLIGO TO MANORHAMILTON – Snowy in patches. Snow on the road as far as Glencar and slippy. Drive with care

DONEGAL –

  • BARNESMORE GAP – Snow and ice, passable with extreme care
  • MOUNTCHARLES – Heavy snow in the townland, drive with extreme care
  • INVER TO BALLINTRA – Heavy snow, road treacherous,  drive with extreme care
  • ERRIGAL ROAD – Back of Errigal Road is very bad with heavy laying snow
  • DUNGLOE – Dungloe to Donegal Town road  treacherous.

LEITRIM –

  • SLIGO TO ENNISKILLEN – Gardaí advise extreme caution on the N16 Sligo/Enniskillen Rd between Manorhamilton & Glenfarne due to black ice on the road.
  • BALLINAMORE TO DRUMSHANBO – Road treacherous, drive with extreme care
