Sligo mother calls for clarity on future of respite services in region



A Sligo mother whose son has had to travel to Monaghan for respite care is calling for clarity on the future of respite services in the region.

It follows the closure of the Solas centre in Ballytivnan earlier this year, which affected at least 28 families of people needing respite.

Ocean FM News now understands the HSE has been looking at a house in Sligo in which to provide respite for people such as Helen Hamilton’s son, Niall.

But Helen says there’s no indication when that new service will become available:
