New bus services for north Leitrim area

A later bus link between Kinlough and Bundoran has been added to a new initiative announced by the Minister for Transport.

Over the weekend Minister Shane Ross announced that 15 counties were going to benefit from a new late night service.

It’s been confirmed that the new Kinlough to Bundoran service will be extended until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

It currently runs 7 services a day until 6pm six days a week.

Local Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock says the whole Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon rural link will now be included in Minister Ross’s new scheme:

In a separate move, a new Bus Eireann morning service between Manorhamilton and Sligo has also been set up.

It’s something that locals were calling for for a long time stating that the first 10am bus services is too late for people going to work, college or attending hospital appointments in Sligo.

The bus now picks people up at 7:55am. Councillor Warnock has also welcomed this move.
