Calls for english signs to be totally removed in Gaeltacht areas



A Donegal County Cllr has called for any English language signage in the Gaeltacht region to be removed.

The majority of signage in the region are in Irish, but some road signs are bilingual.

But Cllr Michael Cholm Mac Giolla Easpaig says if all signs were in Irish, it would promote the language more.

And he played down claims that tourists could get lost if there were no bilingual sings:
