Updated: Joyriders cause damage to County Sligo Golf Club course

The vehicle believed to have been involved in causing thousands of euro worth of damage to the County Sligo Golf Club course at Rosses Point has been recovered.

A vehicle was driven onto the course at about 2:15 yesterday afternoon, with the worst damage caused to the 7th green and the 8th tee.

Gardai have thanked the public for their help with the investigation, which is ongoing.

It’s expected a file will be prepared for submission to the DPP.

8am:

Thousands of euro of damage has been caused by joyriders at County Sligo Golf Club.

It happened yesterday in broad daylight at around 2:30pm at the Rosses Point course.

The worst of the damage was caused to the 7th green and the 8th tee.
