€30m loan for rural post offices only a sticking plaster – Deputy Fitzmaurice



The thirty million euro in funding announced by the government to save rural post offices is only ‘a sticking plaster solution’ that will not solve their problems in the long run.

Independent Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice says there is need for a proper business plan for the sector, in particularly the establishment of a community banking system like in Germany and New Zealand, to sustain post offices.
