Call for Kinlough dispensary building to be used as council offices

A North Leitrim councillor wants the county council to acquire the old dispensary building in Kinlough for use as an area office.

The building is currently owned by the HSE.

However, local Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock says it could be used for council offices to deal with enquiries such as from the people in the 50 local authority houses in the Kinlough and Tullaghan areas.

He also says it could be used as a library, where high-speed broadband could be used by local people, including students.

Cllr Warnock says there is no public transport in the area, which causes problems for some people who may may have to travel to council offices in Manorhamilton or Carrick on Shannon.
