A new high-tech bike-sharing scheme is being planned for Sligo.
The scheme, which will be entirely controlled by a mobile App, would be the first of its kind in a provincial town in Ireland.
A local company, Eco Travel, based in Drumcliffe, has already made a submission to Sligo County Council asking permission to operate a pilot scheme for the bike scheme in Sligo town.
Independent Councillor Declan Bree says the system uses the latest technology and is relatively inexpensive to use:
