Castlebar to host Ballymote’s Connacht junior final

Ballymote will have to travel to Castlebar’s MacHale Park for their Connacht Junior Football Championship final.

The Sligo side will face Mayo’s Lahardane on Saturday week, with throw-in at 2pm.

Ballymote beat Roscommon champions Kilglass Gaels in last weekend’s semi-finals, while John Maughan’s Lahardane side defeated Galway’s St Gabriel’s.

They will have home advantage as Castleconnor were the home side when the Sligo and Mayo champions last clashed in this competition in 2003.

Speaking on Ocean FM Sport last Sunday, Ballymote club secretary Maria White said that the players will relish taking on the Mayo champions in the final…
