A Sligo man who won a European debate for his views on Brexit is highlighting the importance of public speaking.
Kieran Timmons from Sligo won first place in the ‘Europe Direct Soapbox’ debate competition arguing against Brexit saying it is not an ‘opportunity but a catastrophe’.
Mr. Timmons who is the Education Vice President of Public Speakers Sligo says public speaking is becoming more important in modern life.
The group meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8pm in the Sligo Park Hotel.
Speaking to OceanFM, Mr. Timmons believes receiving public speaking training is something everyone can benefit from.
