ICMSA hits out at ‘ludicrous’ tax on greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture



Taxing farmers for greenhouses gases emitted on their farms is not the answer to tackling climate change.

That’s according to the President of the Irish Creamery and Milk Suppliers Association John Comer who is calling for the recommendations of the Citizens Assembly over the weekend to be outrightly rejected.

The assembly voted overwhelminly in favour of a tax on greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.
