There will be temporary traffic lights in place in Ballisodare for road works over the next few days.
Works are being carried out on drainage pipes along the N56 to redirect water into an area that will not affect the local area.
There had been problems in the past with water building up on the road which could be dangerous for drivers and local buildings.
Sinn Feinn Councillor Thomas Healy says that the water will now be fully drained and this will no longer be a problem.
