Sligo Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist and a car where a man has died.
The incident happened yesterday evening on the Sligo town side of Cliffoney on the N15 at approximately 4pm.
A man aged 66 riding a motorcycle was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene, he was taken to Sligo University Hospital.
A woman was driving the car and was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Gardaí report there were three children travelling in the car who are uninjured.
The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place with the road expected to be closed until lunchtime today.
A stop go management system is in place at the ‘old N15’ at Moneygold.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to contact them at Sligo Garda station or any Garda Station
