A new Killybegs group aims to bring life back to the town centre



A new group has been set up in Killybegs with the aim of bringing new life back to the town centre.

The bustling fishing town in south Donegal is well known for its fishing industry and marina but locals feel that people are bypassing the town centre as a result.

There was a lively meeting last night to discuss plans to regenerate and access funding to draw up a plan for the town.

Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy called the meeting and says a new committee made up of 12 local
people from a number of sectors including business and tourism has now been set up.

There are currently 27 empty units in the town centre alone.
