Significant rain expected for the North West overnight



Counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are expected to receive significant rain over the course of today and the warning remains until Saturday night at 9pm.

Parts of the North West were effected by flash flooding yesterday evening and earlier this week with Storm Ophelia and with the expected rainfall, this is a possiblilty again.

A Yellow Wind Warning is also being issued from 3am Saturday morning with expected winds of upto 65km/h and gusts of 110/km/h .

Met Eireann forecaster, Joan Blackburn says that the North West can expect winds to be strongest in the afternoon.
