Sligo and Donegal to face last year’s top two in Masters semi-finals this weekend

In Masters football, the All-Ireland semi-finals take place this weekend.

Sligo go head-to-head with Cavan in their last-four tie in Drumlish at 5pm on Saturday, while Corran Park in Ballymote will host the other semi-final involving Donegal and reigning champions Mayo from 2.30pm.

Sligo and Donegal are both unbeaten so far in the competition, having won six games apiece and drawn with each other in the group stages.

But Sligo midfielder Con O’Meara says that will count for nothing come this weekend’s knockout stages, and he is expecting a tough game against the Breffni men…

Meanwhile, the Leitrim-Longford combined team will contest the Plate semi-finals this weekend, and face Westmeath in Edgeworthstown from 4pm, also on Saturday.
