Callan-McFadden suspended for Derry tie

The FAI have confirmed that Sligo Rovers defender Kyle Callan-McFadden will be suspended for Saturday’s last home game of the season against Derry City.

The centre-back, who has been one of Rovers’ best performers this season, serves a one-game ban for an accumulation of yellow cards.

Goalkeeper Micheál Schlingermann is also expected to miss out once again through injury.

Rovers are just one point above the relegation zone heading into the weekend’s action, but know that two wins in their last two games of the season will guarantee their safety, regardless of results elsewhere.

Derry City guaranteed themselves European football once again next season thanks to last night’s scoreless draw away to champions Cork City.

Kenny Shiels’s side are currently just one point behind third-placed Shamrock Rovers.

Saturday’s game will be live on Ocean FM in association with McMullan O’Donnell Window & Door Specialists, Collooney.
