Plans for a new primary care centre in Drumcliffe



The HSE is planning a new primary care centre in north Sligo.

It has submitted an application for planning permission to Sligo County Council for a single-storey building for the new centre to be built at Drumcliffe.

It will be located beside the current Drumcliffe Family Practice.

The new centre will provide accommodation for a range of services to be located under one roof; they will include GPs, nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and dietitian.

Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Rosaleen O Grady, a member of the Regional Health Forum West, says it’s about bringing the services out to the people.

And she adds it’s an idea that was originally mooted by the old North Western Health Board, which preceded the HSE:
