Gardai in Donegal say investigations are continuing into what’s understood to be a horrific alleged attack on a young woman in Letterkenny at the weekend.
Gardai have confirmed that a woman was allegedly assaulted by a man in his 30s at Castle Street in the town between half two and three o’clock in the early hours of Sunday morning (15th October).
It’s understood the 18 year old student who is from Letterkenny but at college in Galway was out with friends and was waiting for a taxi at the time.
She alleges the man was unknown to her.
In a statement to Ocean FM News today, the Gardai state the injured party presented herself to Letterkenny University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing into the incident.
