Businesses face staff disruption due to school closures



Businesses throughout the region are getting normal today after yesterday’s disruptions due to Storm Ophelia.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce in Sligo says staffing will be difficult for businesses today as the schools remain closed.

Des Faul, the owner of Cafe Fleur on O’Connell Street says that businesses were lucky to escape the worst of the weather yesterday and staff safety was the key reason most companies closed.

He says they expect another quiet day today as schools are off and people get back to normal.

However, he says some staff are finding it hard to get to work if they cannot find childminders due to the school closures.
