Downstream areas of Owenmore River to be included in flood survey



Ballisodare and Collooney have been included in a new survey to assess flooding on the Owenmore river.

The pilot survey was given the go ahead by the OPW Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran on a visit to this region in August.

It’s to assess the best means to counteract flooding.

However, the two downstream villages of Collooney and Ballisodare were not included.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy called for them to be included last month and approval has now been granted:
