Sligo Councillor calls for more staff to administer domicillary care allowance



A Sligo Councillor is calling for more staff to be made available to the section of the Department of Social Protection in Sligo that administers the domicillary care allowance.

It’s a monthly payment for a child aged under 16 with a severe disability, who requires ongoing care.

It’s administered from the Social Protection offices in Sligo.

There is currently an 18 week delay before people even hear back on their application.
