The HSE has confirmed that the cafe at St. John’s Hospital in Sligo is now open 6 days a week.
There has been difficulty in staffing the facility over the past year.
Fianna Fail Councillor Rosaleen O’Grady raised the issue at the meeting of the HSE Forum West this month.
She says she has been reassured that a full-time staff member has now been appointed and there are three new volunteers at the weekend.
Councillor O’Grady says it is hoped that it can be open 7 days a week but that’s dependent on volunteers coming forward:
