Tubbercurry childcare provider to address Oireachtas committee



A Sligo childcare provider will today tell an Oireachtas committee in Dublin that the Affordable Childcare Scheme needs to be made more affordable.

Louise Kilbane, from Lollipop Lane Creche in Tubbercurry, will brief TDs on the scheme at an event hosted by the Fianna Fail spokesperson on Children and Youth Affairs, Deputy Anne Rabbitte.

More Affordable Childcare is the name given to a number of childcare supports that came into effect in September.

A major problem for over-burdened childcare providers is registering families for the scheme.

This is as a result of an IT portal for this purpose not having been completed in time for the September rollout of the scheme.
