Garavogue River launch for new legislation on those who vandalise life saving equipment

The banks of the Garavogue River in Sligo was the location for the promotion at the weekend of a new piece of legislation on the theft of, or damage to life saving equipment, such as lifebuoys or defibrillators.  Under the Bill being promoted by Fianna Fail Senator, Keith Swanick, a five-year jail term or a €50,000 fine will be handed down to individuals who steal or damage life-saving equipment.
