Sligo Rovers manager Gerard Lyttle believes Kevin Deery’s experience may prove beneficial as his side prepare for a tense run-in.

The former Derry City captain was appointed as assistant manager for the remaining six games of the season this week, and will be in the dugout alongside Lyttle for Saturday’s trip to Ballybofey to face Finn Harps.

Ryan Casey had been assisting the Bit O’ Red boss since the departure of Declan McIntyre at the start of the summer, but had to step aside due to his commitments with the FAI.

Lyttle is hopeful Deery can provide something fresh for the remainder of the year…

Harps are two points clear of Rovers and outside of the relegation zone heading into the game, and boss Ollie Horgan says a draw might suit them better than it suits their opponents…
