The Sligo mother of a young man waiting for surgery to relieve a painful scoliosis condition says the situation is now actually getting worse rather than better for people like her son.
Val Robus, from Coolaney, was speaking to Ocean FM News following reports that waiting lists for scoliosis surgery are now rising rather than falling.
That’s despite the announcement last June by Health Minister Simon Harris of a Scoliosis Waiting List Action Plan for 2017.
Scoliosis is a condition arising from curvature of the spine, which causes a variety of complications.
Valus Robus says she’s not surprised by the latest revelations.
And she also reveals how a pain-killing patch her son uses is now to be withdrawn.
