Councillor calls for five-year plan for parking in Leitrim



A Manorhamilton councillor says the County Council needs to develop a five year plan for parking in the county.

Independent Councillor Felim Gurn made the calls this week highlighting the problems with traffic management and parking in Manorhamilton in particular.

The owner of the recently closed-down Bredin’s shop there mentioned these two issues as among the challenges that are causing hardship for small businesses.

Councillor Gurn says the Council must do more to increase parking in all towns in Leitrim.

He says buying up properties that go on the market could be a way to find space:
