HPV vaccine campaigner hits out at head of HSE and Minister over comments



A north west campaigner for greater clarity about the HPV cervical cancer vaccine has hit out at both the head of the HSE and the Minister for Health over their comments on the issue.

Minister Harris yesterday called on people he regards as unqualified to give advice about the vaccine to “butt out”.

Meanwhile, the head of the HSE, Tony O’Brien, accused some opposed ot the vaccine as “emotional terrorists.”

Sean Wynne is viceprincipal of Drumshanbo Vocational School in County Leitrim and secretary of the Gardsil Awareness Group.

He put forward the motion at this year’s TUI conference calling for a review of the HPV vaccine programme in schools.

Speaking to Ocean FM News this lunchtime, Mr Wynne revealed how he has challenged Mr O Brien to publicly debate the issue.
