Spanish award for Grange and Armada Development Association

The Spanish Ambassador to Ireland will officially open a Book of Condolence in Sligo today to the victims of the recent terror attacks in Spain.

Cathaoirleach of the County Council Seamus Kilgannon will ask Mr. Jose Maria Rodriguez-Coso to be the first to officially sign it on his visit to Sligo today.

Mr. Rodriguez will be in City Hall just after lunch to award a special honour on behalf of the King of Spain to the Grange and Armada Development Association.

It’s to mark all the work done in reconnecting Sligo’s links with the Spanish Armada and is the first such award given to any group in Ireland.

Councillor Kilgannon says it’s a very significant day both for Sligo and for Spain and in light of this he says it would also be a great honour for him to officially open the Book of Condolence:
