Pets killed and children at risk on busy north Sligo road

A former mayor of Sligo is calling on motorists to slow down on a road in north Sligo on which family pets have been killed by speeding cars.

Independent Councillor Marie Casserly says residents living on the road between Carney village and the N15 at Cashelgarron are very concerned about the situation.

She points out that the council has now put down new road markers to alerting motorists to slow down.

She says in some cases, parents are concerned about letting children near the road.
