Minister will look at staffing issues facing heritage sites like the Sean MacDiarmada Homestead in Leitrim



The Minister for the OPW says he plans to look at staffing issues facing important heritage sites like the Sean MacDiarmada Homestead in Leitrim.

Earlier this year, there were fears the MacDiarmada cottage in Corranmore would be closed to the public if funding was not renewed for a guide and manager at the heritage centre in Kiltyclogher.

The Minister with responsibility for the Office of Public Works was asked about the issue by Ocean FM News on a visit to Sligo earlier this week.

He says he plans to look at staffing issues like this which he says are an issue not just in this case in Leitrim but at other similar heritage sites around the country:
