McEneney linked with Donegal job after stepping down from Wexford post

Seamus ‘Banty’ McEneney may have cleared the way for a tilt at the Donegal senior manager’s job.

The Monaghan native stepped down as Wexford manager last night after just one year in charge.

He has been linked with the vacant post at Donegal, ahead of tomorrow’s closing date for nominations from the clubs for a successor to Rory Gallagher.

Meanwhile, Naomh Columba beat St Michael’s in their Donegal Minor Championship play-off last night.

In the Division Two quarter-finals, there were wins last night for Fanad Gaels, Termon, Milford and Gaoth Dobhair.

And Mac Cumhaill’s secured top spot in the Senior Hurling Championship group stages after a 1-20 to 1-18 defeat of second-placed Burt last night.

Setanta finish third despite their defeat of Buncrana.
