Taheny features again as Irish University side win at student games

Sligo’s Ross Taheny once again featured for the Irish third level team at the World University Games in Taiwan today.

The Ballinamallard United club man started for the third successive game, as the Irish beat Chinese Taipei 2-1, thanks to goals from Alan O’Sullivan and Joe Doyle.

The win wasn’t enough to send the Irish through to the quarter-finals, however, following their draw with France and defeat to Mexico.

Instead the Irish team will play in a classification play-off at the weekend.
