MacSharry calls for four Sligo sewerage schemes to be given go-ahead

A Sligo/Leitrim TD is calling for work on four sewerage schemes in County Sligo to all start immediately now that An Bord Pleanala has overruled an objection in relation to one of them.

The four proposed plants are for Ballinafad, Grange, Tubbercurry and Strandhill.

All are in one bundle but there was an objection to land purchase orders in relation to the Tubbercurry plant.

However, An Bord Pleanala has this week overruled that objection.

Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry claims money for the schemes was provided by a Fianna Fail-led government from 2002-2007.

He says it’s now time to move ahead with these much-needed plants that have been delayed for years.
