Rescue 118 involved in search for missing diver

A search is due to resume this morning for a diver missing 20 miles north of Fanad.

The Coast Guard were alerted at 4:30pm yesterday when a diver failed to return from the water with their group.  A search operation was launched along with Sligo based Rescue 118, the Lough Swilly RNLI lifeboat and local boats aiding in the search.

It’s believed that a group of divers were exploring shipwrecks in the area and the alarm was raised when all but one returned.
