Forthill Park in Sligo to be named O’Boyle Park

Sligo councillor Gino O’Boyle says the naming of a park in Sligo Town after his late father is a fitting tribute to his memory.

Forthill Park will be officially named ‘O’Boyle Park’, after the late Councillor Seamie O’Boyle at a naming ceremony which takes place this Friday.

The park, just off Connaughton Road, consists of two soccer pitches, one GAA field, a basketball court and a running track. A outdoor gym was also recently installed there.

The ceremony takes place almost two years to the day of the death of the late councillor.

His, son, Gino, who was co-opted on to Sligo County Council following his father’s passing, says the naming of the park after his late father is huge honour for his family.
